Training

Equine Bodywork Training for Hoof Care Professionals

Affiliated Bodywork Hoofcare Professionals

Co-instructed by Dino Fretterd (Dino's B.E.S.T., Inc.) and Randy DeBord (Hoof Savvy)

The purpose of this clinic is to share knowledge with individuals who have experience and a comfort with working with the legs and feet of the horse.  True knowledge can be attained only through understanding and application.

As a hoof care professional you certainly understand muscle/tendon tension and the effects that it has on the feet. It causes the horse to adopt different postures which then results in a weight bearing/distribution issue which you see in growth patterns.  Bodywork Professionals are welcome to attend this clinic as well, it is not only for Hoofcare Professionals.

The instruction will include:

Day 1

  •   Assess Horses (taking notes on each)
  •   Discuss Concepts and Components
  •   Re-Assess Horses (applying concepts)
  •   Reflex points for muscle stimulus and passive soft tissue/joint mobilization
  •   Isolation stretches for forelegs

Day 2

  •   Isolation stretches for hind legs
  •   Active soft tissue/joint mobilization all four legs

The effectiveness of the techniques that will be taught will help you as a hoof care provider achieve the trim you would like without overstressing the soft tissue and compromising the horse.  Additional benefits of stretching techniques allows you to work with a more relaxed horse.  Anatomy will be discussed as it pertains to balance and function. This is a class where egos are left at the door and open discussion as to serving the horse with justice is paramount.

The 2-day clinic will be held at a dude/guest ranch or, you may host a clinic.  (Inquire about benefits to Host).  Shoes would be removed by or under knowledge of ranch professional and discussion would be held as to what could be done to improve the balance of the horse.  The techniques described above will improve range of joint movement and elasticity of soft tissue which would result in allowing you to balance the hoof more effectively.

“I’ve said many times...if I had a magic lamp instead of a genie I wish I could have a hoof care professional appear.”

This clinic will:

  •   Create a safer work environment
  •   Have an immediate impact on the results of your work...Guaranteed or your money back!
  •   Minimum participants 6
  •   maximum participants 8
  •   Course Fee $750

Testimonials

As a professional Farrier for the last 20 years, I have been around horses a lot. Throughout the years, I have become increasingly aware of the necessity to look at the whole horse to be able to fix imbalances and issues with their feet. Because of this, I became interested in equine neuromuscular dentistry and bodyworks.

I met Dino at my first Advanced Whole Horse Dentistry class, where he instructs a clinic on Bodyworks. I was so impressed by his skills and knowledge and the expert way in which he moves around horses that I've taken the opportunity to attend more than the required class by Dino, but an additional class through AWHD as well as his Affiliated Bodywork Hoof Care Professional Clinic which was amazing.

Dino's passion for the horse's wellbeing and his gift of teaching are obvious in the way in which he presents the material and the dedication he shows to both the students and the equines.

I have been thrilled with the direct results from Dino's class. The stretching and balancing techniques we applied to my horses and mules helped restore and maintain their balance and has substantially improved their performance and mood. Almost immediately, they seemed to be saying "Thank you!"

I look forward to continuing to learn from Dino and anticipate even more revelations regarding the positive result of continued overall horse care.
